B2B Marketing:
The B2B market is well developed and has a number of B2B suppliers who have various address lists at their disposal. Return rates are vary low due to the excellent quality of addresses. The most widely used selection criteria for B2B lists are: address information, sales, tel. no., fax no., number of employees, aceCode, decision-makers, title and occupation (there are approx. 160 titles and 8 established occupations) and business figures. It is common practice in Denmark to buy addresses They may also be purchased for nonrecurring or for multiple use.
There is also a list of subscribers and members that covers approx. 1,000 to 10,000 company addresses. Within this context, a separate distinction cannot be made on most lists between private and company addresses in the case of magazine subscriptions. These subscription lists frequently cannot be bought or rented. Despite this fact, one method to reach readers is ether to place an advertisement or to insert supplements.
B2C Marketing:
There are only two lists in the consumer sector due to the Danish Data Protection Act. One list comprises of a database with lifestyle addresses. The public telephone company manages the second list, which is based on the telephone directory. The telephone directory currently lists approx. 2.4 million households (given a total population of approx. 5.37 million). The lifestyle database contains approx. 290,000 subscribers. Return rates are vary low due to the excellent quality of addresses.
Denmark has two separate systems that can be used to select geo-demographic distributions. ARTis the name of the geo-demographic system of the Danish Post Office. The most interesting areas can be selected based on the postal code system. It is also possible to select average figures such as: age, gender, income, type of home, and number of children. The Danish Post Office is currently endeavoring to expand demographic variables.
